Oliver O’Connell Operations Director

Oliver qualified as a mental health nurse over a decade ago, gaining experience in services ranging from inpatient secure, to child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) high dependency and general adolescents, all the way through to secure care home services working with a range of mental health and challenging behaviour profiles. Throughout his career he has worked his way up through the management structures to senior leadership and directorship levels, developing high performance skills to develop, change and innovate practice across different service specifications and legislative constructs.

Oliver’s experience, skillsets and values are an excellent fit for Cove Care and Cove Healthcare. He has a passion for providing quality of outcomes for children and young people who suffer a range of mental health and psychological issues; and has opened and supported new and existing services such as residential Ofsted regulated, CQC transitions services, all the way through to opening and supporting with mental health services across the South East of England. This has driven him to continuously aim with the view of providing excellent quality care and positive outcomes for those who use our services to be empowered to live a complete and fulfilled life.

Oliver’s Operations Director role at Cove is to provide executive, senior leadership functionality across the company, including residential, transitions and healthcare. He provides effective strategic top-down dissemination from the board to the operational heads; and responsive, outcome-driven links from the operations back to the board. He is a key leadership figure across the company.

Management

Liza Gallon Clinical Mental Health Nurse Specialist

Liza has extensive experience within CAMHS units, initially for the NHS and later within independent sector settings. She has held posts in both Tier 4 and Primary Care CAMHS, in-patient settings and within the community. Liza’s central focus with Cove Care is to provide specialist mental health nursing liaison within the in-house teams, providing clinical care plans for our young people, training, support and guidance to the Registered Managers and Support Work teams. She also has responsibilities with liaison with external multi-disciplinary agencies in ensuring smooth transition for our young people, both into and out of our care, as well as ensuring unmet need is assessed and addressed during their time with us.

Rhian Hopkins Operations Manager

Rhian has worked within residential care since 2007, she has predominantly worked with children from the age of 4 to 18 years who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. Rhian also has experience in setting up a provision for children who have learning disabilities. During this time Rhian has gained her level 3 in health and social care for children and young people and has also achieved a level 5 Diploma in leadership and management. Rhian is a passionate responsible individual who strives for positive outcomes for her children, staff team and Managers.

Holly White PA to Directors

Holly has both experience and an extensive background in healthcare, administration, and children’s safeguarding. Her knowledge puts her in good stead for fulfilling her PA duties within the company. Since working in safeguarding, Holly has gained a significant interest in the welfare of young people, and she now uses her skillset to appropriately support our directors in delivering the best service possible for the young people we have in our care.

Halima Mughal Reception / HR / Office Administrator

Halima is an experienced administrator with a background working in schools. This is where Halima gained her experience and knowledge within children’s safeguarding and child protection. Halima’s role is the face of our company, and to ensure that the day-to-day activities are run efficiently and faultlessly. Halima is prominent in liaising with managers and other colleagues which the key to communication within our company.

Tiffany Howl

Young People’s Psychotherapist

Tiffany is a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapist with over 16 years clinical experience. Tiffany has further training in Schema Focused Therapy and third-wave CBT approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy. Tiffany likes to utilise all of her training when working with young people at Cove Care so that they can benefit from the ‘best fit’ for their needs.

Tiffany has specialist expertise in helping children and adolescents and has worked in several NHS CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service) services treating young people with depression, anxiety disorders; including panic, OCD, generalised anxiety disorder, PTSD, heath anxiety, separation anxiety, phobias, complex trauma, attachment difficulties and emotional dysregulation. Tiffany has a special interest in the effects of trauma and development trauma, which often manifests as emotional distress and emotional dysregulation. With a passion for improving children and young people’s mental health, Tiffany facilitates an attachment and trauma focused approach within their clinical work at Cove Care.

Tom Corns Financial Controller

Tom qualified as a chartered accountant in 2011, his career started in an audit background with the one of the big 4 accounting firms. His 6 years of audit experience took him overseas to audit private banks and overseas investment funds in the Cayman Islands. 

On returning to the UK, Tom gained experience at the managerial level and developed a strong skillset around financial controls and processes. Building on this, Tom worked his way up to become Head of Finance. He was responsible for all aspects of the finance function and a key stakeholder in board meetings to ensure the financial success of the business. 

Tom’s experience is a great fit for Cove, providing expertise in financial controls and processes. He is aiding the cost efficiency of the business ensuring the maximum benefit to our young people. Having worked in different financial sectors, this experience will enable him to support future company growth. 

Tom’s role is providing key executive leadership at the Company. He is responsible for the financial overview and forecasting of all financial aspects of the business.

Rachel Oliver Operations Manager

Rachel has over 20 years management experience in social care including residential care and fostering. Her qualifications are DipSW, Foundation degree therapeutic childcare, BA (Hons) open degree with leadership and management, Diploma level 5 Leadership for health and social care for children and young people. Rachel has worked for Cove Care from 2013 in various roles supporting Ofsted and CQC regulatory activity, referrals, and placements of young people, outcomes for young people and advocating the young people’s views on their care profile. Rachel takes a lead in training and staff development supporting staff in their progression into Senior roles. Rachel is a qualified Mental Health First Aid trainer with MHFA England.

With all this in mind, it is clear that Rachel has the experience and skills to competently and effectively support Cove in delivering the best possible service to the young people we have in our care.

Kathryn Nixon Business Development Coordinator

Kathryn gained her many years’ experience within the Energy Industry as a Customer Service Representative, Coach Lead and Subject Matter Expert. This experience has given Kathryn the skills to support colleagues within their day-to-day roles and to work effectively with third parties. Kathryn is keen to use her varied skills to continue supporting the staff team to achieve their best. She also works closely with the Senior Leadership Team at Cove in developing and growing the business.

Jade Beattie

HR & Communications Administrator

Jade started with Cove Care back in 2015 on an apprenticeship where she gained her Diploma in business studies. She has also worked in the motor trade, adding both accounts and customer service strings to her bow. This has enabled Jade to progress well within the business, bringing these skills to good use within all aspects of HR and recruitment.  Jade strives to implement new attributes into her role ensuring full efficiency and is extremely passionate about the welfare of our staff and young people at Cove.

Tina has many years experience in a variety of administration and compliance managerial roles. With her keen eye for detail and highly organised nature she brings knowledge and passion to the team. This ensures that the HR and recruitment process is run smoothly and with confidence, enabling compliance and competence within the workforce.

Johanna Andrade Finance

Jo is a highly organised, accomplished and capable professional with versatile experience in providing effective administrative support across a variety of sectors and departments. This includes finance, recruitment, resource and planning. As part of her role, it is important for Jo to build relationships with both our suppliers and clients to find the right resolution to suit the business and client need. Jo is motivated by supporting others and sharing her knowledge. She is also not afraid to take on new challenges and problem solving using these skills has enabled Jo to provide Cove Care’s young people and directors with a high standard of finance support.
